Boudoir photography is especially popular as a wedding gift from you to your groom. Boudoir photos are usually taken tastefully, with as little or as much as you would feel comfortable wearing. Boudoir photographs can be from teddies to sheer cloth just around sensitive areas, to nothing at all. They are not x-rated, but rather PG-13 -- as in classic pinup-inspired picture. Sexy and sensual, not nude (think shot from the back or lying on your stomach).
When should I schedule the session? You should schedule the photo shoot a week or so before the wedding. It can be a fun and pampering way to take some time away from wedding plans. A separate shoot will give you time to really feel comfortable, and get some great shots.
How long does it take? It depends on how many photos you would like to give your groom, and how many lay outs you choose. It will probably last about two hours. Why so long? It takes time for hair and makeup, plus the additional lighting setup. It may also take you a little while to relax.
Where should I have it done? Talk with us, we can come up with the best location. We can do your photo session in our studio, a posh hotel, your home, or a borrowed home which is another option.
What should I wear? The most important thing is to choose outfits that make you feel sexy. A good rule of thumb: Bring something white, something black, and something in a bright color so you can mix and match. A corset will create sexy curves. In addition to lingerie, don't forget shoes, jewelry, and that engagement ring.
Should I bring anyone along? Though you don't want to turn your shoot into a uncomfortable situation, it's a good idea to bring a friend. Why you ask? You will feel more comfortable and at ease if you can make a few jokes with a friend. She may also be able to help you with suggestions. If it is an offsite shoot you may even think about this idea. Bring a bottle of bubbly. A little champagne may help you feel more relaxed and comfortable. You'll be posing like a pro in no time. This is a one-time-only exclusive for a very special occasion, and a very special person. Or for your soon to be very lucky groom.
